How does the CS2 portfolio tracker work?
Search for a skin, enter how many you own, what you paid for one and the date you bought it, then add it. The tracker looks up the current Skinport price for each holding and shows what it is worth now, what it cost you, and your profit or loss in dollars and percent.
The allocation bar shows how your money is split. If one knife is 70% of the bar, most of your portfolio moves with that one item. Totals and the bar update as soon as you add, remove or import a holding.
When you open the page for the first time, you see an example portfolio built from real Skinport prices. Adding your first item replaces it with your own list.
Where is my portfolio saved?
Your holdings are saved in your browser's local storage on this device, and nowhere else. There are no accounts. The only thing the page sends to our server is the list of item names, so it can look up their prices. Your quantities, buy prices and dates never leave your browser.
That also means clearing your browser data deletes the list. Use Export JSON to download a backup file, and Import JSON to load it on another device or browser. Importing replaces the list you have open.
The file is plain JSON. Each holding has a market name (n), a quantity (qty), the price you paid for one (buy) and a date (date, as YYYY-MM-DD).
How is profit and loss calculated?
For each holding:
- Cost = buy price x quantity
- Value now = Skinport price x quantity
- Profit or loss = value now - cost
- Profit or loss % = profit or loss / cost x 100
The totals add up every holding that has a price. If an item has no Skinport price at all, it is left out of both the value and the cost, and the tracker tells you how many were skipped. That keeps one missing price from showing up as a fake loss.

Lowest listing or 7-day median: which should I use?
Prices come from one source: a snapshot of the Skinport items API and sales history. The snapshot on this page is from 24 Sep 2026 at 03:00 UTC. We do not blend in other marketplaces.
You can value your holdings two ways.

If the chosen number is missing, the tracker falls back to the other one, then to the 30-day median sale, and marks the row. Our snapshot includes listings that are still trade locked, which can be cheaper than items you can trade today.
Worked example 1: the starter portfolio
This is the real-price example the page loads, with one of each item. Each buy price is that item's median Skinport sale over the 90 days up to 24 Sep 2026. Each current price is the lowest listing from the 24 Sep 2026 snapshot.

- Total cost: $31.64 + $116.33 + $3.78 = $151.75.
- Total value: $22.67 + $99.35 + $2.93 = $124.95.
- Profit or loss: $124.95 - $151.75 = -$26.80, or -17.7%.
The allocation bar shows the AWP | Asiimov at 79.5% of the value, the Redline at 18.1% and the Cortex at 2.3%. Most of this portfolio rides on one skin.
Worked example 2: the same portfolio at 7-day medians
Switch the setting to 7-day median sale. The current prices become $28.59 for the Redline, $104.15 for the AWP | Asiimov and $3.30 for the Cortex.
- Total value: $28.59 + $104.15 + $3.30 = $136.04.
- Cost is still $151.75.
- Profit or loss: $136.04 - $151.75 = -$15.71, or -10.4%.
The loss shrinks by about 40% just by changing which Skinport number you trust. Neither is wrong. The lowest listing is the price to buy one more today. The median is closer to what recent buyers actually paid. Looking at both gives you a range instead of one exact looking number.
What does the tracker not do?
- It does not read your Steam inventory. You add holdings yourself, or import a file.
- It does not show prices from other marketplaces. Skinport is the only source.
- It does not include stickers, agents or other items the price snapshot does not cover yet. They show as "No price".
- It does not take off selling fees, so a small paper profit can still be a loss once you sell.
- It does not store price history per holding. It compares what you paid with the latest snapshot.
When should you use a portfolio tracker?
Use it if you buy skins to hold, if you want to know which items have gained or lost the most since you bought them, or if you want to see how much of your money sits in a single knife or glove. It is also a simple record of what you paid, which is easy to forget a few months later.
