What does the loadout builder do?
It lets you plan a full set of CS2 skins and see what it costs. You pick a skin and a wear for each of eight slots. The builder adds up the lowest Skinport listing for each pick and shows the total next to your budget.
When you are happy with it, the share button makes a link with a card that shows the total and your most expensive skin. Anyone who opens the link sees the same loadout, ready to change.
Which slots are there?
The eight slots cover the items most players see every round:

You do not need to fill every slot. Leave a slot empty and it simply does not count toward the total.
How is the total worked out?
For each slot, the builder looks up the lowest Skinport listing for the skin in the wear you chose. The total is those prices added together:
Total = sum of the lowest listing for each filled slot
When you pick a skin, the wear starts on its cheapest listed wear. The wear menu shows the price of every wear, so you can see how much a cleaner wear adds. If a wear has no listing, it shows "no listing" and counts as $0 in the total, with a note under the total.
All prices come from one marketplace, Skinport, from our latest snapshot. The snapshot time is shown under the tool. Prices on other sites, or on the Steam Market, will be different.
What does the budget bar show?
The budget field starts empty, because the budget is yours to choose. Type a budget and the bar fills as you add skins. It turns red when the total goes over. Under the bar you can see how much money is left, or how far over you are. This makes it easy to swap one expensive pick for a cheaper one and watch the total fall back under the line.
Worked example 1: a starter loadout for about $110
These numbers are from the 24 Sep 2026 Skinport snapshot, taken at 03:38 UTC. This is the loadout the builder shows when you first open it, with every skin in Field-Tested:

If you type a $150 budget, the bar shows $38.34 left. The knife and gloves make up more than half of the total, which is normal. They are the most expensive slots in almost every loadout.
Worked example 2: a loadout over $500
Same snapshot, 24 Sep 2026. Now fill just four slots, all Field-Tested:

Swapping a Navaja Knife for a Karambit with the same finish adds about $340 on its own. The knife model often matters more to the price than the finish. This loadout also has four slots filled and a total over $500, so it unlocks the "Built a $500 loadout" achievement.
How does the $500 achievement work?
When a loadout has at least four slots filled, the builder counts it as built and records its total for your XP. If that total is $500 or more, you unlock the "Built a $500 loadout" achievement. The total is the same real number the builder shows, from Skinport prices, so the badge means you really priced a $500 loadout. Your progress is saved in your browser only.
What does the total leave out?
- Float and pattern premiums. A very low float or a rare pattern can cost far more than the cheapest listing.
- Stickers. Applied stickers can add a lot to a skin's price, or nothing at all.
- Fees. Buying is at the listed price, but if you sell later, a seller fee comes off. Check it with the trade profit calculator.

When should you use it?
Use it to plan a new inventory before you spend, or to check what your dream loadout would cost today. If a slot is too expensive, search that weapon in the budget skin finder to see every cheaper option. If you are stuck between two skins for one slot, put them into the skin comparison tool.
